How do we prepare the next generation for a digital future powered by #AI? We start early by giving every student the chance to explore emerging technologies in safe and meaningful ways.   Jointly offered by IMDA and Ministry of Education, Singapore (MOE) through the Code for Fun programme, AI for Fun modules were launched this year where primary and secondary school students learn skills like natural language processing, computer vision, custom AI chatbot creation and digital making with smart robots. 35 senior government officials, 11 Southeast Asian countries, 1 shared goal: a digitally resilient ASEAN.    Through the AI Policy Leaders Executive Education Programme, Singapore leads the AI charge by uniting key players that shape ASEAN’s tech future. This includes ASEAN policymakers and regulators, as well as IMDA, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Google (Asia Pacific), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Singapore and members of the ASEAN Working Group on AI Governance. Designed to foster open dialogue and strategic knowledge exchange, the programme sought to create a network of national AI ecosystems, driving the region to the forefront of responsible AI innovation.   Participants gained in-depth insights into:  🔹AI concepts 🔹Economic impacts 🔹Global regulatory practices 🔹Strategies to build public trust in AI We also shared insights from AI Verify Toolkit, IMDA’s open-source software solution, to support policymakers in implementing responsible AI aligned with internationally recognised governance principles.    These efforts highlight IMDA’s role in advancing a digitally empowered region by equipping government bodies with the right frameworks for AI governance.
