She said YES! SNP independence campaigner Natalie McGarry set to wed TORY councillor

McGARRY and her partner David Meikle went head to head during the referendum campaign but decide they're better together.

AN SNP MP is set to marry her Tory councillor partner.

Yes campaigner Natalie McGarry and partner David Meikle went head to head during the referendum debate by battling for opposing sides.

But now the SNP activist and her Better Together boyfriend are getting hitched.

David, 31, from Glasgow, and Natalie, 33, from Inverkeithing in Fife, met four years ago when they were on opposing sides in the Scottish Parliament elections.

During the referendum campaign Natalie admitted many people in both camps were “shocked” by their pairing.

But they told the Record at the time they would never let their views affect their relationship.

Natalie, MP for Glasgow East, said: “He is No and I’m Yes but it’s not us against each other, the whole thing is about convincing other people about independence”.
