The People v. O.J. Simpson may be great television, but it’s hard to keep track of all the characters and plot lines, much less what’s fact and fiction. Fortunately, Saturday Night Live’s Kate McKinnon dropped by Weekend Update as Somebody’s Mom Deenie to break it all down for us. Deenie really captured the essence of the show right from its dramatic opening scene:

Sorry, that was actually what happened in The People v. B.J. Simpson, which Deenie ended up watching because of a “broken clicker.” McKinnon’s character is great, but the real star is her Tupperware container of Brussels sprouts and imitation crab. Honestly, this sketch would work just as well if it were just five minutes of McKinnon plowing her way through a bowl of Brussels sprouts. Maybe better.
