for homeowners, renters, and business owners suffering damage as a result of Hurricane Isabel.

Please have the following information available when you call:

  • A phone where you can be reached
  • Social Security Number
  • Current Mailing Address
  • Address of damaged property
  • Brief description of damage
  • Insurance information if applicable
Government disaster assistance covers basic needs only and will not normally compensate you for the entire loss. If you have insurance, the government may help pay basic needs not covered under you insurance policy. Some disaster aid does not have to be paid back while other types of help may come in the form of loans.

FALLEN WOOD DEBRIS
may be disposed of by county residents with a valid landfill permit at the Alpha Ridge Landfill, 2350 Marriottsville Rd., Marriottsville.
Permits will be issued on-site ($12) with proof of residency (i.e. drivers license, water bill, etc.)
Landfill will be open 8 a.m. to dark through next Saturday, September 27.

Debris can be recycled in those areas that currently receive yardwaste recycling service. Debris set out for this collection must be bundled and residents are reminded that the rule of 4's apply:

  • no more than 4 inches in diameter
  • no more than 4 feet in length
  • weighing less than 40 pounds.
