WBQ8 Wide Bay (Maryborough) began on 10 April 1965. It later changed it's call-sign to SEQ, and on-air name to 'Sunshine Television'. MVQ6 Mackay started in 9 August 1968, and later was called 'Tropical Television'.
On aggregation at the end of 1990, these two stations came together to create the 'Sunshine Television Network', and became the affiliate of the Seven Network in Queensland. Both of their call-signs changed to STQ.
Sunshine Television was bought out by the Seven Network in 1995 and is now known on-air as Seven.
