Home of the Former Racesci Website
The RaceSci Web Site (1996-2006) was a scholarly forum and database that addressed a longstanding gap in resources for the history of race in science, medicine, and technology. Its initial purpose was to affirm âraceâ as a category of analysis within the history of science and to help build a field where none previously existed. In addition, the resource mapped debates over the use of 'race' in present-day scientific and medical research, as well as collected teaching materials from leading scholars in the field, making these materials freely available online to users worldwide.
Due to the wealth of online materials now available in these areas, maintenance and updating of the RaceSci Web Site ceased in 2007. We have decided to leave the site online as an artifact of its intellectual and technological moment.
