About Us

Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity

Proud to Support Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity

At ASK Italian, we're proud to support this rewarding charity which we're all passionate about. Our aim of raising £1m for the hospital's charity will allow them to treat more children, and provide facilities for patients and their families. As families are so important to us here at ASK Italian, the link between us and GOSHCC is instinctively right.

We're pleased to announce that we have re-established our GOSHCC partnership this year, with the goal of raising £1million to help fund the facilities in the hospital's new surgery centre due for completion in 2017.

Child Patients

The History of Our Partnership

Back in 2008, we established our relationship with GOSHCC through their 'Kiss it Better' campaign. Then in 2010, we raised money through our Celebrity pasta cook book and donations on some of our special pasta dishes. In total we raised £200,000, which has gone to fund the ward kitchen and the adolescent dining and recreation room in the cardiac ward of the Morgan Stanley Clinical Building which opened in June 2012. Janet Holmes is the Play Specialist on the cardiac ward and says "The new facilities have made such a difference to all of us. The separate adolescent room gives teenagers a space of their own and the patients and families love them. As soon as we moved I noticed everyone had a smile on their face. The hospital experience is much nicer for everyone, and we're so grateful to supporters like ASK Italian who have helped make this happen."

Our new ASK Italian cookbook not only helps us raise vital funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC), it also helps anyone who loves Italian food as much as we do to feel confident about cooking it at home. With anecdotes from celebrity friends, including Claudia Winkleman and Gino D'Acampo, the book includes over 100 authentic Italian recipes. Find recipes from our suppliers in Italy, from our expert friends: Theo Randall and Carla Capalbo, and of course members of the ASK Italian team.

Helping to Change Lives

Not only do we raise money through activities like raffling giant Easter Eggs, but we also volunteer at events organised by the charity at the hospital.

We also like to get the whole ASK Italian involved, so during September 2013, we embarked on our most ambitious project to date; The ASK Italian Grand Tour. Over 19 days, we visited every ASK Italian restaurant and along the way our teams were involved in a Triathlon, two 20 miles walks and two 600 mile cycles. This event alone raised over £180,000 and has driven an appetite with our team members to get involved and raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.
