Decolonising and diversifying the curriculum at DCU
Decolonising and diversifying one's curriculum and one's teaching practice can help to address power imbalances and give space to others' voices and perspectives, in our higher education culture which is largely dominated by Eurocentric epistemologies.
The Teaching Enhancement Unit partners with the DCU community to support decolonisation and diversification practices.
A good starting point is to explore our interactive toolkit, created in partnership with students and academics. The toolkit will be updated regularly.
If you are interested in trying out some of these practices, we will soon be establishing a community of practice for DCU colleagues to share and learn from one another's decolonising practices.
