Says who?

Where is the source for the definition of "F-gases"? If this topic is merely the invention of an editor, then the contents should be disseminated among various F-articles, IMHO. Also the article is an example of advocacy or soap-boxing. While some readers might agree that CFCs etc are a problem, the article starts with a pejorative perspective. --Smokefoot (talk) 22:25, 24 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal

The creation of this article is certainly defensible since many fluorinated compounds are volatile (not just organoF compounds), but there is no well-defined topic called "Fluorinated gases". Fluorinated gases is not a thing. So for that reason alone, a merger into an authentic topic seems justified. The title also makes no literal sense, its about gases that have been fluorinated? As it is, the article has flimsy refs and is, IMHO, a disservice to readers. In the merger, we could easily distribute what little decent or original content over other articles, the main one being organofluorine chemistry. --Smokefoot (talk) 19:06, 10 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

In EU, the definition of "fluorinated gases" is "Fluorinated gases (F-gases) are man-made gases used in a range of industrial applications." Christian75 (talk) 08:36, 18 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
