Sawyerville tornado

A 2014 study concluded that the April 27, 2011 Sawyerville EF3 had a kinetic energy output of >120 terajoules, meaning it contained more energy than the Hackleburg EF5, Smithville EF5 (considered one of the strongest tornadoes in history) and Moore EF5s. Does this mean it was potentially of EF5 intensity? EF5 01:50, 6 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Does it say that it may have been F5 in the study anywhere? Maybe a nice spot on Tornado records is owed to it (well, depending on how many "terajoules" we measure in other tornadoes). Departure– (talk) 02:19, 6 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Every European F5 is now an IF5
