Question from Kaithawali (08:35, 4 October 2025)
[edit]hi , i want to develop a page on wikipedia --Kaithawali (talk) 08:35, 4 October 2025 (UTC)
- Kaithawali Good day. Did you mean you want to create a new article or you want to create your user page or you want to edit a page in Wikipedia? Cassiopeia talk 08:02, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
Question MF Boxing / Profesional boxing
[edit]Hi Cassiopeia,
I have been in a discusion about the page of Anthony Taylor (fighter) about the boxing record and Misfits Boxing bouts.
According to boxrec it is its own category making his record quite complicated. For MF Pro while Sherdog lists them as Exhibition Boxing.
These are 2 very good record holders of boxing matches and according to Wikipedia:WikiProject Boxing/MOSGuidelines its best to follow boxrec.
One of the accounts that reverted my edit has been banned MoonknightPP34 i have opened dialoge with user GhaziTwaissi but now its been reversed again by a brand new account named MasterChief280.
Is there a proper way i can discus this. Am i in the right or wrong?
A lot of people take wikipedia as truth and i have been noticing that people confuse MF Boxing with pro boxing. Its boxing with custom rules because most of them dont have a boxing history. Just very few matches are actually sanctioned by a commision thats able to and all of this is listed inside Boxrec. Panini03 (talk) 10:23, 6 October 2025 (UTC)
- Panini03 Good day. I believe you meant Tapology rather than Sherdog in your previous link. On Wikipedia, MMA fighters’ records are sourced from Sherdog, while boxing records are based on Boxrec. It is appropriate to start a discussion about the subject on the article’s talk page to avoid violating the three-revert rule (WP:3RR), which can result in being banned from editing. Sometimes, editors are new and may not understand established norms, or they may fail to provide reliable sources for their edits, often relying solely on personal opinions instead of verifiable references. Regards. Cassiopeia talk 08:31, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
- In this case im the new one. But i just notice the error but a lot of influencer boxing pages maintain it. Generarly these are managed by the same people i think.
- I have opened a conversation on the talk page of KSI and also opened a talk with someone who reverted my edit. I will try to get my point across and if i reach a agreement i wanna change it on other influencer boxers pages as well. If i dont i wont do this of course. Is there anyway i could get more attention on this talk page?
- i also think user:MasterChief280 is a sockpuppet of User:MoonknightPP34 since their editing history is similar.
- I did get reverted 3 times by now but 1 of my reverted edits was a sockpuppet and one more revert of what i think is another sockpuppet of the same user.
- Is there any way where i can report this. Lil Tjay discography and the Anthony Taylor (fighter) are 2 pages i find examples on.
- Thank you for the help Panini03 (talk) 09:19, 7 October 2025 (UTC)

- Panini03
- Three things:
- I am not sure how active or current WikiProject Boxing is compared to WikiProject MMA, but you can always ask experienced Wikipedia editors for help or clarification.
- 2. On Wikipedia, verification with independent, reliable sources is a core policy. If in doubt, refer to this crucial guideline.
- 3. I did a quick check on the two editors you mentioned and found that they have edited some similar pages. Editor YeetaSkeeta is a sockpuppet of Moonknight PP34, among others; you can review their contribution log and talk pages for context. To report sockpuppetry, use Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations and follow the instructions. For example, see the case: here. Regards. Cassiopeia talk 09:56, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
- Panini03 Please use the "vertical" format and NOT horizontal format for the infobox. Cassiopeia talk 09:57, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry i corrected the infobox.
- I will check out both WikiProject Boxing and MMA i have used the Boxing page as extra argumentation for the change in records already but never asked them for help.
- I always try to follow rule 2 to the best and wont change anything unless i can prove it to be different.
- I will report the sockpuppet to the page.
- Thank you for your help Panini03 (talk) 11:50, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
- Panini03 Good day. Good day. I just wanted to let you know that WikiProject Boxing can be another place to go if you need help with boxing-related questions. Of course, I’ll be happy to assist you anytime you need help. I understand you successfully reported the editor to SPI. I believe they may return as a sock and edit the same pages in a similar style, so please keep an eye on those familiar pages. Thank you very much for your help and contributions. Stay safe and all the best. Cassiopeia talk 00:37, 10 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hey Cassipeia,
- I have asked them for help but yet to get a response. I did help them out with a dispute about Naoya Inoue. Hopefully i wil get some help for them otherwise i might ask somewhere else.
- Now the discusion is just at a stand still i got a Opposed by 3 people but 2 of those seem very untrusted and the 1 that is doesnt respond anymore. Most of the time he refers that it was discused last year as well but it seems people noting out that its not a pro boxing match and him saying its more understandable for the general public.
- I think User:GhaziTwaissi might be using sock puppets as well in KSI Archive of last year he says "to not confused the general public" and on the new talk i opened i got voted out by 2 inactive accounts saying its confusing for the general public.
- I dont actually have evidence outside this or anything to build a case on so i won't report it.
- But User:YeetaSkeeta and User:AliM7mdd who also are known sockpuppet users have a big history of using sockpuppets as well in the KSI talk page. They all seem to be involved around Youtube boxing articles.
- A couple people have said they should fix the records but these accounts generally seem to block it.
- Im considering changing the record i a few days and just see the outcome.
- Thank you for the advice and help. I have been keeping watch at the articles, im fairly new to wikipedia so i dont try to edit too much and just maintain the few pages i have been working on or help out with updating information. Have a good day! Panini03 (talk) 13:20, 10 October 2025 (UTC)

Question from Engrish-speaking Japanese (11:58, 6 October 2025)
[edit]I have a question about the article "Competition (film)." There are two films called "Competition," so I'd like to change the page name from "Competition (film)" to "Competition (1915)" to avoid confusion. How can I do this? --Engrish-speaking Japanese (talk) 11:58, 6 October 2025 (UTC)
- Engrish-speaking Japanese Good day. Please provide me the URLs for the two films above so I can assist you. Regards. Cassiopeia talk 00:36, 7 October 2025 (UTC)

Weekly highlight
- Paste Check is a new Edit Check feature to help avoid and fight copyright violations. When editors paste text into an article, Paste Check prompts them to confirm the origin and licensing of the content. Starting Wednesday, 8 October, 22 wikis will test Paste Check. Paste Check will help new volunteers understand and follow the policies and guidelines necessary to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia projects.
Updates for editors
- Mobile devices will receive mobile articles directly on the standard domain (like
en.wikipedia.org
), instead of via a redirect to an "m" domain (likeen.m.wikipedia.org
). This change improves performance. This week it will be enabled on Wikipedias. The existing mobile URLs and the "Desktop view" opt-out remain available. Learn more. [1] - New date filters,
creationdate:
andlasteditdate:
, are now available in the wiki search engine. This allows users to filter search results by a page's first or last revision date. The filters support comparison operators (e.g.>2024
) and relative dates (e.g.today-1d
), making it easier to find recently updated content or pages within specific age ranges. [2] - Wikifunctions now supports rich text in embedded calls across the 150 wikis where it's enabled. To showcase this, the team created a Latin declination table that Wiktionary editors can use to automatically generate noun forms, producing clear, formatted results — see an example output. If you need any help or have any feedback, please contact the Wikifunctions Team. [3]
- An edit link will now appear inside the categories box on article pages for logged in users, which will directly launch the VisualEditor category dialog. [4]

Updates for technical contributors
- The field
rev_sha1
in the revision database table is being removed in favor ofcontent_sha1
in the content database table. See the announcement for more information. - The Reader Experience team will roll out Dark Mode user interface on all Wikimedia sites on October 29, 2025. All anonymous users of Wikimedia sites will have the option to activate a color scheme that features light-colored text on a dark background. This is designed to provide a more comfortable reading experience, especially in low-light situations. Template authors and technical contributors are encouraged to learn how to make pages ready for Dark mode and address any compatibility issues found in templates in their wiki before the enablement. Please contact the Web team for questions or any support on this talk page before the enablement. [6]
- Starting on Monday, October 6, API endpoints under the
rest.php
path will be rerouted through a new internal API Gateway. Individual wikis will be updated based on the standard release groups, with total traffic increased over time. This change is expected to be non-breaking and non-disruptive. If any issues are observed, please file a Phabricator ticket to the Service Ops team board. Question from Mildabutke (06:58, 7 October 2025)
[edit]Hi! How can i get my edits approved? How many edits do i have to do in order to create a new wiki page? --Mildabutke (talk) 06:58, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
- Mildabutke Good day. In the future, please provide the URL of the page so I can assist you more effectively. I have reviewed three of your edits, all of which have been published, as they adhere to Wikipedia’s guidelines. Since you are new here, I strongly recommend completing the short 30-minute program at WP:TWA. This will help you understand the basic rules for editing Wikipedia and avoid guideline violations, which could result in warnings or, if they persist, a block or ban from editing. Please let me know if you need further assistance—I am here to help. Regards. Cassiopeia talk 08:12, 7 October 2025 (UTC)

how do i create a page? --Caydenc1 (talk) 21:30, 9 October 2025 (UTC)
- Caydenc1 In order for a subject to warrant a page in the main space of Wikipedia, it must fulfill the criteria outlined in the Wikipedia guideline on notability, specifically the General Notability Guideline (WP:GNG).
- GNG is defined as the subject must fulfill specific criteria to demonstrate significant coverage from independent and reliable sources. These sources should provide in-depth discussions about the subject rather than merely offering passing mentions. This requirement is essential for verification, which is a core policy of Wikipedia. If a source is affiliated/associated/connected with the subject—such as the subject's marketing team, company, social media platforms, information in interviews of the subject or any self-published information—this indicates a lack of independence. Consequently, such sources cannot be utilized to satisfy the notability guidelines. Sources originating from educational institutions, government entities, foundations, social media platforms, and private companies are regarded as unreliable. In contrast, materials published by "major" newspapers and "reputable" books are typically considered reliable sources.
- I recommend that you read WP:Your first article and adhere to the provided instructions before beginning the creation of an article. Cassiopeia talk 22:15, 9 October 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hi! I was wondering if I want to create a new wikipedia page, do I must need to be an autoconfirmed user? If yes, how do I become one?
