There is a requested move discussion at Talk:Persecution of homosexuals in Nazi Germany#Requested move 6 September 2025 that may be of interest to members of this WikiProject. Raladic (talk) 01:28, 6 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello WikiProject LGBTQ+ studies members. I’ve opened a thread at this section about sourcing and neutrality in this BLP. Fresh perspectives from LGBTQ+ project members would be appreciated as it is a queer story in need of a balanced, consensus‑driven outcome - BrokenEmperor BrokenEmperor (talk) 15:43, 12 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Support & advice request re: lists of LGBTQ+ bars (4+ articles)

    [edit]

Hello all - I am a newish editor and might be in over my head with a project I'm tackling, so I would appreciate guidance and support. I have started drafting List of LGBT bars (WIP not ready to submit), which is an existing AfC, by tabling gay bars with existing pages linked in Gay bars. (I have also started adding entries to List of lesbian bars to bring it closer to the list in Lesbian bars.)

This affects a network of relevant articles:

    • I believe it would make sense to link this list of LGBT bars from Gay bars#List of gay bars, as List of lesbian bars is linked from Gay bars#Lesbian Bars. However, that raises some questions I need help to answer:
    • Should a list of LGBT bars include lesbian bars, or should lesbian bars remain a standalone list?
    • Should the lists of gay and lesbian bars at the bottom of Gay bars remain there, or be fully migrated into standalone list articles? (There may be a notability or openness criterion here per Talk for both Gay bars and Lesbian bars from 2023.)

Thank you! I have just submitted the draft, which can now be viewed and edited at Draft:List of LGBT Bars. (I'll focus on adding entries until I hear otherwise :) ) Magnetopology (talk) 15:25, 14 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    Request for reassessment

    [edit]

Please can Mark_Weston_(athlete) be reassessed as it is currently listed as "Stub" quality despite being much more detailed. Furbybrain (talk) 12:12, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Looks start class to me. Just changed it on the article's talk page. It's still pretty basic since it doesn't have enough info to give a reader a thorough exploration of the topic, has issues like the failed verification tag, and a lack multiple sections for different aspects of the person's life (a more detailed biography might have different sections for career, personal life, awards, etc.) Urchincrawler (talk) 03:54, 19 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion that Women in Red has trans women as a theme

    [edit]

There's a suggestion that transgender women are one of the monthly themes at Women in Red (see here). Would participants here be interested, and if so could members here suggest guides for those who haven't yet written about trans women (see concerns around dead-naming)? Many thanks Lajmmoore (talk) 18:44, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I'd be interested and I'd probably start by browsing Wikipedia:WikiProject LGBTQ+ studies/Missing biographies of trans women for article to consider creating. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:57, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'd be interested, but am very concerned about the potential for increased vandalism, trolling, and harassment given the current political environment (not just in the US, but worldwide). Funcrunch (talk) 19:28, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Not trying to downplay any cause to be vigilant, but the very fact that it is a concern underscores why such a project is important. Iostn (talk) 01:14, 16 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I agree, I think this will send a clear message that Wikipedia does not bend to the will of despots Snokalok (talk) 02:00, 16 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    Intersex Healthcare Feedback Please

    [edit]

Hi. I'm renominating my article, intersex healthcare, for GA review, but while I wait for a reviewer I'd appreciate any and all tweaks or feedback even if it's something minor like wording. I'm trying to get my article in the best shape possible for review so some fresh eyes looking it over would be appreciated. Thanks! Urchincrawler (talk) 05:43, 19 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    Pronouns in drag articles

    [edit]

I've found that articles for drag queens seem to switch between pronouns in a confusing way, take this quote from Alaska Thunderfuck as an example:

    • After discovering that he disliked the process of trying to land acting jobs, he conceived the concept and personality of her drag persona while smoking marijuana.

The switch from "he" to "her" here doesn't seem to have any reason or logic to it. This is a particularly egregious example, I don't think I've seen something this confusing on any other drag related article, but I do think it shows that there is a problem. I don't really know anything about drag, so I don't really have a solution, though I think having a note on the first pronoun used in the article (RuPaul's article does this, as do a lot of biographies for people who use multiple pronouns) should be standard. MRN2electricboogaloo (talk) 04:21, 25 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I think using footnotes like in RuPaul's article is a good idea. At the very least, we shouldn't be switching pronouns mid-sentence. Rosaecetalkcontribs 10:35, 25 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Uncertain if article fits in this projects scope

    [edit]

Would like to raise Good for the Soul (The Boys episode) as being added to this project because it heavily features homophobia and lgbtq+ (Queen Maeve's sexuality, homophobia of the public, Christian right "pray the gay away," Ezekiel's internalized homophobia.) I have reworked and copyedited the article as a whole but feel that some of the themes in the article could be expanded on a bit. Would appreciate any other eyes and opinions.
