CSD Statistics

Statistics on the Cambridge Structural Database

At over 1.25 million curated entries, the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) is a vital resource for scientific research around the world. Here we present statistics about the growth and composition of the CSD.

These statistics are generated weekly on all the curated published structures and do not include structures undergoing enhancements.

A daily update on the total number of (unique) structures is shown in the footer of the website. This is run daily and includes a small proportion of structures that have undergone our automated processes and checks but not our manual curation, and so will be higher than the figure available on this page.

The number of CSD entries on this page is a slightly larger value, as each CSD entry corresponds to a published reference to a dataset.
