Bear with me here, because I only watched this once while I was babysitting and I zoned out and almost fell asleep. also, I haven't watched it since. the idea is interesting, it could make a very good story if handled correctly. the problem here? it was not handled correctly. low budget does not mix with CGI, particularly CGI dinosaurs. I also understand that yes, this is a film for children, but children growing up on movies like Jurassic Park and Jurassic World will not be impressed by the CGI here. trust me: remember how I told you I watched this while babysitting? exactly the point. the kid I was watching was much less unimpressed, but still not enthused by the story. of course, lousy writing will affect older audiences like me more than them, but it's still an important issue to hit. however, I will say that the acting from our lead actor, Kyler Beck, was surprisingly good and I expect he'll be landing roles in bigger projects as time goes on. we'll see if this goes anywhere for him, but there's definitely some potential and talent there that casting agents should (and most likely will) see and utilise to their advantage. worth the watch if you have a younger kid, just make sure they haven't seen any Jurassic Park movies first.
I got this for my kids aged 12, 10, 8 and 4, and it didn't strike a chord with any of them.
The script was lousy and old fashioned and cgi was lame - kids are very aware of bad cgi because they watch great stuff by major studios, so when low budget stuff comes out, they don't buy it.
That aside, there just wasn't enough real drama or tension to keep them interested. To be honest it may have been better if it had gone more down the fantasy route in a committed way- the faux realism in this case became the egg that just didn't hatch.
Worst acting and cgi I have ever seen in a movie. Extremely cringe. Things that happen make no sense baced on what happened five minutes ago in the movie. The whole movie is just pain to watch. The only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is because everyone can make fun of how bad it is together.
Stumbling upon the 2019 movie "The Adventures of Jurassic Pet" by random luck here in 2025, and without ever having heard about the movie, of course I opted to watch it. After all, I do believe in giving all movies a fair chance.
Writers Chris Hoyt, Jerome Reygner-Kalfon and Sebastien Semon put together a wholesome script and storyline that proved enjoyable and entertaining. Keep in mind, however, that this is a family movie, so you're not in for the next "Jurassic Park" adventure here. Regardless, I have to admit that I was adequately entertained throughout the course of the 84 minutes that the movie ran for.
Of the entire cast ensemble in the movie, I was only familiar with Ben Hall. The acting performances in the movie were good.
The effects in the movie were actually not bad. The CGI animated dinosaur was nicely rendered, and had a cute appearance when it was a baby. So of course it appeals to the younger viewers quite a lot.
My rating of director Ryan Bellgardt's 2019 movie "The Adventures of Jurassic Pet" lands on a six out of ten stars.

It's a movie for children but I believe the script and the cgi were very lame
