Nice to see a new peak at 76 for Fleetwood Mac’s ‘The Chain’.

How has ‘Pink Pony Club’ not gone to ACR yet? It’s getting boring now.

The Darryl Davies Chart, 11/07/2025; Welcome to Summer

Hello everyone, hope you've all managed to keep up with the charts in what has been an eventful week both musicwise and weatherwise 🎹🥵 A load of new entries this week, with just three songs remaining from my debut chart (Domino Dancing, Jumanji and Ghosts Again). A strong incursion into the DDC for folk-rock duo Bear's Den, with two new entries this week at 4 & 6, and along with Depeche Mode with their new entry at 5 with Blasphemous Rumours, become the first artists with two songs in the top 10 in a single week. In addition to this, China Crisis become the first artist to have charted with three different songs, they're at number 7 this week with Red Sails, the Pet Shop Boys reach an exciting new peak at number two with Domino Dancing after a steady rise up the chart since week 1, Rudimental are up three spots to number 3, and the coveted number 1 spot this week goes to Freeez with early-80s dancefloor banger IOU, after having entered the charts on week 2. Things look poised for next week with climbers at 2 and 3, as well as exciting new entries which in theory should climb, however a debut week at number 1 for Freeez means it won't be an easy battle for this week's runner-up artists to claim top spot.

1. IOU - Freeez (+1)

2. Domino Dancing - Pet Shop Boys (+1)

3. Feel the Love - Rudimental ft. John Newman (+3)

4. Broken Parable - Bear's Den (NEW)

5. Blasphemous Rumours - Depeche Mode (NEW)

6. Hiding Bottles - Bear's Den (NEW)

7. Red Sails - China Crisis (NEW)

8. Perfect Strangers - Jonas Blue ft. JP Cooper (+1)

9. Jumanji - B Young (+1)

10. Ghosts Again - Depeche Mode (-5)

As always, feel free to share your thoughts below and who you would like (or not!) to see making a challenge for pole position in the coming week 🤔👇👇

mk and chrystal getting a number 1 is definitely a fun surprise - been a while since we had a major dance hit and the production on 'dior' is definitely impressive. still very confused by nice to each other literally charting half its spotify peak? i feel like i'm hearing it everywhere too and it's worth a top 10, let's hope it keeps on climbing. i also hope justin bieber's terrible new album doesn't impact the charts too much next week.

You're attempt to write harmless comments and troll by profile picture and username isn't funny.

But I wouldn't be writing this message if it wasn't for you to keep downloading memes in my PRIVATE discord server and putting them as you're profile picture (Or at the time copying a meme I used the exact second I used it) I'm not stupid. How the heck did you even get access to it? I don't give the link out in many places.

This has gone way too far at this point, and you're small jab at me didn't go the slightest bit un-noticed. I know because you've done this with other accounts to where you've left trails of spam and evidence, aswell as copying random lines I said a while back as if its a subtle reference to me. Stop doing it.

I literally spoke about Jimmy Saville yesterday and shared that picture so don't play dumb.

Extremely pleased to see MK & Chrystal at the top, I can’t believe he’s been making music since 1989 and never had a number 1! Chrystal looks like she’s gonna have a great career ahead of her with 2 songs making the top 5 this year and both of them are bound to be BRIT nominated next year too!

Back to the longest time a song has taken to reach number 1 in the UK, this was NOT Tony Christie and Amerillo but Kate Bush and Running Up That Hill, which took 37 years from 1985 until 2022.

Am I the only one who’s not interested in the Oasis comeback tour in the slightest? I’m much more excited about following Kendrick and SZA’s UK shows instead.

Anyway, I definitely won’t complain about the continued rise of K-Pop Demon Hunters, but man, this week was boring outside of that. Oh, and to answer Drake’s question, you guys aren’t missing much with his new single at all.

Other than that, can we get a normal week in the comments this time, please? 🙏

'Bitter Sweet Symphony' is a classic.

nah you’re not the only one lol, i’m not a big oasis fan myself but that’s mainly because the gallagher brothers are egotistical and full of themselves. music-wise, some ok songs but that’s it.

and yes, the grand national tour was absolute perfection. i went all the way to birmingham and it was so worth it

It’s a shame that Lorde’s album impact almost completely evaporated and that Kesha didn’t show up here at all.

Oh well, at least ‘Plastic Box’ stabilised after its big fall last week. That gives me at least some hope that it’ll see a resurgence during the summer.

Hot Take but Yippee Ki Yay is awful, I'm glad it didn't return.

As for Lorde, I loved her/his album.

Yeah, that was one of the weaker tracks on the album, but 'Joyride' and 'Attention!' are both criminally underrated.

Not BST Hyde Park having a bigger singles chart impact than Glastonbury did… 😭

Anyway, I hope ‘Espresso’ and ‘Stick Season’ don’t continue their momentum and return to the Top 40. I don’t hate either of them but they were there for long enough last year.

Very pleased to see 'Juno' back again. I absolutely love that song.

‘Rein Me In’ returning to the Top 10 is fantastic to see, as is ‘Nice To Each Other’ moving nearer to the region! It would be amazing for Olivia Dean if she manages to get multiple songs there this summer.

It also helps that both of them growing on me a lot and her new single immediately clicked with me too. :)

Speaking of British female acts, congratulations to Clementine Douglas on reaching a new career peak!

Rein Me In grew on me. I'm shocked to see how good it's doing too.

Fantastic to see ‘Dior’ finally take the #1! In doing so, it becomes the first dance song of the year to get there and the first since ‘Backbone’ last August.

It’s crazy that this is MK's first credited chart-topper when you consider that he debuted in 1989. Good for him and Chrystal!
