By convening and coordinating these various stakeholders, REEF helps to de-risk investments and solves the crucial alignment problems currently preventing the efficient allocation of capital.

The Issues
We are living through converging crises - climate breakdown, rising inequality, eroded trust, and resource scarcity.
These challenges are rooted in fragmented systems and short-term incentives.
Critical UK institutions like universities, hospitals, and councils face escalating costs and pressing sustainability demands, yet lack the balance sheet strength for the capital investment they need.
Banks, insurers, and government each hold part of the solution, but current structures keep them siloed.
This means they cannot access the capital and solutions necessary to solve at scale.
The result is wasted expenditure and slow, incremental efforts that create a gap between what we are accomplishing and what we need to achieve.

We have built a ‘constellation’ of leading businesses and universities who have come together for the first time to work in action groups for each of our projects. The Constellation sits at the heart of everything we do, composed of over 100 leading businesses and universities.
