Ofada rices are heritage rice varieties grown in the Ofada region, in south-west Nigeria. They are almost always a blend of two species of rice, African and Asian rice. They are traditionally eaten as a festive dish with with a sauce of ‘Atarodo’ or 'Tatase’ pepper, onion, Parkia biglobosa (locust) beans, palm oil, and meat, in a leaf of 'miracle fruit' (Thaumatococcus danielli).
