The community is in a sort of stumbling newborn phase since ArbCom amended the extended-confirmed restriction. Newcomer and IP participation in areas covered by the restriction is now restricted to just edit requests. The word is getting out slowly, and different editor and admin are responding differently, leading to some seemingly arbitrary differences in outcomes. There will be some natural norm development, but I'm thinking about how to act myself and am interested in knowing how others are thinking about the new rules. Since April 2022, I sometimes edit under my alt account, Special:Contributions/Waterwangledweathers, usually when I'm on less secure devices or networks. I've edited quite a bit using IPs between 2005 and 2021 and barely at all since then.
