Our editorial partner, Great Place to Work, heard from hundreds of thousands of employees about what it takes to be one of the best companies to work for in the modern world. The top companies on our list have one thing in common: Staff largely trust leadership to see them as well-rounded people and reward them for a job well done. From upskilling courses to paid time off for volunteering in their communities, our top 100 companies demonstrate the ways in which their leadership is going above and beyond to nurture talent. That investment pays off in employee satisfaction and retention, and all the way down to the bottom line. Even in the age of AI, being a great place to work comes down to just connecting&mdash;human to human.

Not only has Hilton served more than 3&nbsp;billion guests since its inception, the employer also recognizes the power of its 50,000 U.S. employees. Over the past year, Hilton bolstered its culture, leadership, and performance by improving accessibility programs, leveraging AI, and empowering its in-house entrepreneurs. The company also offers Crisis Concierge; a career-growth program called Hilton Care; and mentorship programs. These perks and programs are popular among employees. Hilton thinks they&rsquo;re why 32% of staffers have been at the company for more than 10 years. And despite being a global hospitality empire, it cares about local issues too: Hilton has contributed Action Grants to support volunteering efforts and created 860,000 learning and career growth opportunities for staff as well as job seekers without a degree.&nbsp;&nbsp;Employees say: "The most unique thing about our hotel is the team. Nvidia also has a strong charitable Inspire 365 initiative for giving back.&nbsp;&nbsp;Employees say: "The collaboration and closeness to any department is incredible. A long-standing top finisher on the best companies list, Wegmans relies on its employees to drive improvements: All 54,000-plus staff can share questions or comments directly with senior VP of operations Bob Farr.&nbsp; &nbsp;Employees say: "I love the Wegmans Family. Marriott&rsquo;s Putting People First company philosophy translates to its global efforts, from training 1&nbsp;million associates worldwide in human trafficking awareness to supplying staff with a hospitality education curriculum.&nbsp;&nbsp;Employees say: "When I started working for Marriott 11 years ago, I remember meeting a lot of on property associates with decades of Marriott experience. I didn't understand how so many people could end up working for a company for 20-30 years with no desire to leave. To produce the 2025 Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For List, Fortune partnered with the people analytics firm Great Place To Work&reg;. Great Place To Work has been surveying employees around the world about their workplace experiences for 30 years. Great Place To Work has developed a set of themes and metrics that not only predict whether employees feel their workplace is great, but predicts retention, agility, and overall business success. &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Using their proprietary Trust Index&trade; survey, Great Place To Work measure the core of what they know creates great workplaces&mdash;key behaviors that drive trust in management, connection with colleagues, and loyalty to the company. &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;The survey enables employees to share confidential quantitative and qualitative feedback about their organization&rsquo;s culture by responding to 60 statements on a five-point scale and answering two open-ended questions.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Employees tell Great Place To Work whether leaders are accessible, communicate honestly and clearly, and if their actions match their words. They tell whether they feel respected as individuals, if they receive training benefits, appreciation, support for their well-being and opportunities to contribute. They tell whether they believe their company is fair related to pay, profits, promotions, recognition, favoritism and opportunities. They tell if they are proud of their work, their team, and their company and if they feel they make a difference, and their work is meaningful. And they tell whether they enjoy the people they work with, feel cared for and can be themselves. &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;List rankings are based on this employee feedback, which is analyzed to determine the extent to which this experience is shared by the full workforce. Great Place To Work measures the differences in survey responses across demographic groups and roles within each organization to assess both the quality and consistency of the employee experience. Statements are weighed according to their relevance in describing the most important aspects of an equitable workplace. Companies with the broadest sets of employees who report positive workplace experiences receive the highest rankings on lists.&nbsp; &nbsp;In addition to analyzing employee feedback for the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For&reg; list, Great Place To Work also considers what a company can tell about their programs and workplace strategy. Each company also answers six essay questions that provide greater insight into how, and why, the organization is great for all people. Responses are rigorously evaluated and cross-reviewed according to Great Place To Work&rsquo;s research-driven criteria. From what companies share in datapoints and essays, they identify the organizations that offer the most generous, caring, and innovative programs reflecting a genuine commitment to meet their people&rsquo;s needs inside and outside the workplace, as validated by what employees themselves report in survey results.&nbsp; &nbsp;Surveys must meet strict requirements regarding how they are distributed and the percentage of employees who respond to ensure they accurately represent honest feedback from the company&rsquo;s full population. While essay responses provide important context for rankings, only survey data can garner a list placement. To be eligible for the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For list, employers must have 1,000 or more employees in the U.S. and cannot be a government agency. In the last year, Great Place To Work surveyed companies employing more than 8.4 million people in the U.S. and received more than 1.3 million survey responses. Of those, over 670,000 responses were received from employees at companies who were eligible for the 2025 100 Best, and this list is based on their feedback.
