Grand Lodge of Armenia

A Few Historical Elements
Masonry officially became speculative (from the Latin speculum — “mirror”) in 1717 in London, under the influence of Pastor Anderson and his close friend, physicist Newton )who for 20 years headed the Royal Society, many of whose members were Freemasons, was very close to Freemasonry, although this has never been confirmed).
The Grand Lodge of Armenia follows the principle of preserving respect for the institutions upon which it is founded — that unbroken chain of values that many Freemasons have bravely defended over time with steadfastness and loyalty. Established in 1913, this structure not only restored the founding principles, but also became the bearer and guarantor of these principles throughout the world. The mission of the Grand Lodge’s Order is also to oversee the preservation of these traditional principles, even beyond the borders of Armenia.
A few historical elements
On October 6th, 1837, In the city of Madras, Colonial India, the Lodge “Armenian” No. 685 was consecrated under the auspices of the United Grand Lodge of England.
How to Become a Freemason
To become a Freemason, each member swears to uphold the Masonic values and strictly observe the inviolable laws of regularity recognized by Grand Lodges around the world. The Grand Lodge of Armenia is acknowledged by many recognized Grand Lodges worldwide.
Candidacy
This is the official submission of the application to the Worshipful Master of the Lodge. This marks the beginning of the work necessary from the very start of the candidacy.
Interviews
In this stage, the candidate meets with several members of the Brotherhood for in-depth and open conversations. Through these mutual discussions, the candidate gains a clear understanding of the Brotherhood, and the members, in turn, get to know the candidate. After each meeting, a report is prepared and presented to the Lodge, followed by a vote. Only a positive outcome allows the process to move to the next stage.
Blindfolded Meeting (in some rituals)
This is an emotional experience. The candidate is brought into the Lodge blindfolded so as not to see the assembly of members. During this time, they are asked questions to which they must respond sincerely. The blindfold symbolizes silence and secrecy—fundamental values of Freemasonry. After this hearing, the third vote is held.
