It took less than eight hours for BTS to rack up more than 45 million views for its first English language single on YouTube.
âDynamiteâ is clearly already a hit for the worldâs biggest K-pop group.
The disco pop tune comes six months after their fourth studio album, âMap of the Soul : 7,â was released.
According to a press release, âBTS sings of joy and confidence, treasuring the little things in life that make life truly valuable and specialâ in the single.
âThe song aims to bring a new surge of much-needed âenergyâ to reinvigorate the global community in the midst of Covid-19,â the release states. âCreative contributors to âDynamiteâ include David Stewart and Jessica Agombar, known for âWhat A Man Gotta Doâ by the Jonas Brothers and âI Love Youâsâ by Hailee Steinfeld.â
Several K-pop stars work with American producers and songwriters, but âDynamiteâ marks the first single sung completely in English from BTS.
The songâs music video keeps things light with colorful and bright scenes featuring the seven members with retro concept props, hairstyles and attire.
Earlier this month BTS announced that - contingent on theaters reopening - their film âBreak the Silence: The Movieâ will roll out to theaters in more than 70 countries beginning September 10.
More countries, including the United States, will debut the film in theaters starting September 24, according to the site.
BTS is set to sing âDynamiteâ at a premiere performance during the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards on August 30.
