Try as you might to avoid the noise, **The Last Dragon - a docudrama about paleontology and dragons - screamed out at you. "Do not believe this slice of old hokum," was what it yelled. "But hey, the computer graphics are something!" And they were. The show was awesome but never scary. It wouldn't have made it on to **X-Rated: the TV They Tried to Ban where Gordon Ramsay was serving up filth, an alliteration of filth, a spray to spur the whole kitchen into action. Despite Gordon's ear-slaught, the programme's narrator was sounding jolly, just like a nanny addressing vulnerable ears with a timely warning that the bogeyman was coming, but half enjoying it nonetheless: "In the next ninety minutes we'll be charting all the filth that TV has ever flung at an audience. …
