Facilities are available for trailer camping (with electricity hook ups), tent camping, playground equipment, a shelter house and numerous trails which meander through wooded areas, a self-interpreting nature trail, and grassland/wetland areas. The Comet Trail, a trail connecting the park with Beaman, runs through the park and includes a suspension bridge over Wolf Creek.
- Comet Trail
The Comet Trail is another area that is maintained by the Grundy County Conservation Board. The former railroad right-of-way that ran from Conrad, through Beaman, to the Grundy/Tama County line has been converted to a popular recreational trail, while preserving valuable wildlife habitat. The majority of the trail is of a crushed limestone surface, perfect for bicycling and walking. Trailheads have been developed, both on the west side and east side of Beaman, along with sites in Conrad and at the Wolf Creek Recreation Area, for parking and picnicing. The trail was recently extended into Tama County and a new spur is being developed into Gladbrook, which will link the towns of Beaman, Conrad, and Gladbrook to the Wolf Creek Recreation Area. In addition, this trail was recently included as a part of the “American Discovery Trail”, which runs from coast to coast across the United States. This is a project of the US Park Service to link recreational, scenic, and wildlife habitat significant trails across the nation.
- Beaman ArboretumThe Beaman Arboretum is a five acre interpretive nature area on the east edge of Beaman, maintained by the Grundy County Conservation Board. This wooded area contains several species of trees and has a nature trail that winds its way through the park. Little development has been done here in order to preserve it as a game refuge and wildlife area.
