Clearly The INC is alligned to Centre-Left to Left ideology. They are completely opposed to the Right wing Ideology of the Bhartiya Janta Party and the RSS. In addition to that, they are allied, and are the leading party of, The INDI Alliance which include left wing parties like The CPI, The AAP, The Samajwadi Party, The DMK, The RJD, The TMC, CPI (Marxist), CPI (Marxist Lenninist) Liberation, The RSP etc. What NCERT says is based upon 2005-2006 data. The current situation clearly alligns the INC to Left wing.
VERY minor edit requested - the subtopic heading "List of vice president" at Indian_National_Congress#List_of_vice_president should be changed to "List of vice presidents" since multiple individuals have served in that role. This would also make it consistent with the other headings under that subtopic which are all pluralized ("List of prime ministers," "List of deputy prime ministers," "List of presidents").
