Roman Catholic Church

[edit]

Witht the oldid of 24 October 2024 it was added the section titled "Roman Catholic church":

Citing Hebrews 9,27 ("27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, 28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation."), the Catechism of the Catholic Church completely rejects any doctrine of reincarnation.[1]

The prevoius WP article didn't mention the official position of the Roman Catholic Church on reincarnation -as it is very clearly expressed in the Cathechism (at n°. 1013)-, nor it mentioned Hebrews 9,27-28, which is one of the more meaningful biblical statements concerning the subject matter.

Sot, those aspect have been integrated into the WP article.

Socrates

He only suggested it MIGHT exist, not that it definitely did exist. He wouldn't want to assert something without proof that it did 97.118.144.102 (talk) 01:09, 30 May 2025 (UTC) -TurtlesPhis Socratic Side[reply]

Revising Page Structure

[edit]

This page has a history section and religion/philosophies section. The history section is good for providing context but I don't see the utility of having so much detail per tradition in the history section since there are subsections for it afterwards. Also, while the history subsections are labeled by time period, the content seems like it is divided by philosophical traditions aligning with geographical areas. For example, nearly all of the 19th and 20th century subsection focuses on American and European developments, which gives a misleading impression that other traditions were not thinking about this concept at the same time.

I was thinking it would be useful to reformat the page to better convey the concept of reincarnation. The history section can be condensed to give an overview of a general timeline before going into detailed description of how the concept varies across traditions. Would appreciate input from other editors to help improve this page's readability and avoid repetition. Swirlymarigold (talk) 12:48, 18 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
