African tent revivals ?

[edit]

I removed the sentence comparing African tent revivals to those in the US. If the term "tent revival" is in fact used to refer to practices outside the United States, this is interesting and worth including. But it seems like worshiping in a "permenant tent" is fundamentally different then what this article is about. Also, it is both chauvinist and inaccurate to contrast "Africa" with "modern countries". --Brian Z (talk) 03:07, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

tv and radio ??

[edit]
With radio and television playing an increasingly important part in American culture, some preachers such as Oral Roberts, a very successful tent revivalist, made the transition to these media.

this feels really outdated, right? I wouldn't say that television or radio are "increasingly important." at this point (2025) they're both, and especially radio, on the decline.

Such pioneers were the early televangelists.

and this probably needs a citation. CAROL.IS.BBO (talk) 03:41, 27 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
