I was under the impression that it was a type of fabric, not a weave-it is made with a twill weave, no? So twill would be the type of weave, and gabardine the type of fabric? Did I get that wrong? Loggie (talk) 17:33, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, I removed it. - PKM (talk) 18:48, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Chiné/warp printing?

[edit]

Does warp printing/chiné qualify as a weaving technique? It seems to be a pretty equal cross-over between weaving and printing as it uses both techniques. Shot silk is certainly a weaving technique so I'm going to add it, but not sure about warp printing - I am inclined to say it counts as weaving, though. Heddle/Heald

[edit]

The Heddle page does not mention the word "heald", and that word seems to be a less common term than "heddle" when referring to the loom part. I propose that the link to "Heald (Heddle)" be changed to just "Heddle" or at least swap the names to say "Heddle (Heald)". Heddles (talk) 22:58, 30 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I boldly made the change. Heddles (talk) 01:59, 16 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
