This user is a living thing that originated at some point during the Holocene in the Texas Blackland Prairies. However, due to poor adaptation to hot weather and the increasing pressure of hostile political landscapes, this user migrated in 2021 to the Great Lakes region, specifically ending up in the Southeastern Wisconsin Till Plains. When this user isn't at work, it's usually birdwatching, doing nature photography & bird photography, or otherwise spending time in nature. When it's not doing that, it's usually doing some sort of art and/or craft, editing photos, doing speculative evolution/biology and worldbuilding projects, or editing Wikipedia.

Hello! I am new to Wikipedia. Use he/him or it/its if you are referring to me. I signed up because I wanted to edit and contribute to articles about birds, plants, and the natural world. My focus is on biology, paleontology, and ecology, but I also do copyediting and revisions on all sorts of articles as the mood strikes. I find myself drawn to endemic, endangered/threatened, and (recently and/or possibly) extinct species. Feel free to let me know of any mistakes or errors I make.

Birds

Semper's warbler Leucopeza semperi †, a possibly-extinct Parulidae sp. endemic to undisturbed undergrowth in the montane rainforests & elfin woodlands of certain mountain slopes of Saint Lucia.
Paria whitestart Myioborus pariae, an endangered Parulidae sp. endemic to edges and clearings of humid montane rainforest of a handful of mountains in the Paria Peninsula region of Venezuela.

Plants

Large-fruited sand verbena Abronia macrocarpa, an imperiled edaphic endemic Nyctaginaceae sp. found only in the deep, fast-draining Eocene-aged sandy soils of a handful of counties in eastern Texas.
Texas craglily Echeandia texensis, a critically-endangered craglily endemic to semi-saline clay soils along the Gulf Coast, at the mouth of the Rio Grande.
'Ahakea Bobea timonioides, an endangered endemic Rubiaceae sp. found only on the Hawaiian Islands which is threatened by invasive species and a loss of suitable habitat, likely brought on in no small part by volcanic activity.
Lava hau kuahiwi Hibiscadelphus crucibracteatus †, an extinct Malvaceae sp. known from a single lonely tree discovered in 1981 and presumed extinct when the only known specimen died following damage from invasive chital (Axis axis).
Kawaihae hibiscadelphus Hibiscadelphus bombycinus †, an extinct Malvaceae sp. endemic to the island of Hawaiʻi described in 1920 based on a specimen collected 55 years earlier, by which point its describer presumed it to be already gone.
Maui hau kuahiwi Hibiscadelphus wilderianus †, an extinct Malvaceae sp. endemic to dry forest of the leeward slopes of Haleakalā on the island of Maui, presumed extinct when the sole known specimen died within a few years of its discovery.

Hachisuka Masauji (1903 - 1953), a Japanese nobleman, aviculturist, & ornithologist who studied at Cambridge ^{(although I found no records of him ever actually getting his degree...)} and published on the birds of the Philippines & the dodo and other extinct birds of the Mascarene Islands.
