Coeliac disease
[edit]Thanks for your ongoing work on this article. Are there any body sections you think you are finished writing that you'd like me to read? -- Colin°Talk 15:20, 5 September 2025 (UTC)
- I'm mostly done with the symptoms section (I may reformat it a bit but the text should largely stay the same). I'm also done with the first two paras of the diagnosis section and the serology subheading if you wanted to take a look at that. I have a bit more work to do on the mechanisms section so I'll get back to you on that one in a few days. I'm also done with the causes section. Thanks for your help it is much appreciated. IntentionallyDense (Contribs) 19:34, 5 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Colin The causes and mechanisms sections are done except for one part that I could really use some help on.
Membrane leaking permits peptides of gliadin that stimulate two levels of the immune response: the innate response and the adaptive (T-helper cell-mediated) response. One protease-resistant peptide from α-gliadin contains a region that stimulates lymphocytes and results in the release of interleukin-15. This innate response to gliadin results in immune-system signalling that attracts inflammatory cells and increases the release of inflammatory chemicals
- This appears to be true based on the research I've done however the source material on this and the text itself is too technical for me to verify that sources are confirming this. I'll list the sources that I think do confirm this:
- Extremely detailed/technical (can provide pdfs via email if needed):
- Chirdo, Fernando Gabriel; Auricchio, Salvatore; Troncone, Riccardo; Barone, Maria Vittoria (2021). "The gliadin p31–43 peptide: Inducer of multiple proinflammatory effects". International Review of Cell and Molecular Biology. Vol. 358. Elsevier. doi:10.1016/bs.ircmb.2020.10.003. ISBN 978-0-323-85311-8. Retrieved 2025-09-12.

- Less technical and probably still very useful:

- Less helpful but still worth checking out if needed:

- I'm afraid that I can't help understand the technical aspects of this. I just don't have the education or brain for it. Graham Beards knows about the immune system, at least from an infection POV, which might be enough. Have you considered reaching out to one of the authors of a review you like. Email addresses are often listed and/or not hard to track down. I asked a frequent author of ketogenic diet research/reviews to review the WP article and they gave useful feedback and said they were a fan of Wikipedia. I'm sure if I had questions about things I didn't understand, they'd have been willing to help. These people don't have the confidence to directly edit WP but are often thrilled that someone wants to improve its coverage of their favourite subject. You just have to watch they don't cover stuff the sources don't actually say (yet). -- Colin°Talk 16:23, 14 September 2025 (UTC)
- I’ll reach out to Graham in regards to it and then try emailing some people as I do feel I am at least familiar enough with the terms used to at least navigate through the technical content a bit. Thanks for providing next steps nonetheless. Thanks for your comments on the symptom section as well, I’ll address them in more detail on the talk page at a later point but I’m already very pleased with how things are going. If you’re able to give the causes/mechanisms a quick scan to see if there is anything you can give feedback on that would be greatly appreciated as it is the section I’m most unsure about. I’ll likely reach out to a few other editors in regard to that section as I would like as many eyes on it as possible. IntentionallyDense (Contribs) 21:45, 14 September 2025 (UTC)

Question from Nkosi sbongakonke on Mathematical Kangaroo (14:23, 22 September 2025)
[edit]Hello how and when can I start --Nkosi sbongakonke (talk) 14:23, 22 September 2025 (UTC)
- Hey @Nkosi sbongakonke, I noticed IntentionallyDense seems to be taking a wikibreak right now. Feel free to reach out to me on my talk page if you would still like help with learning to edit. IAWW (talk) 21:43, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you @It is a wonderful world, I’m happy to see you doing more things with newer editors (such as a GAN backlog drive that i believe you helped coordinate awhile back, my memory is hazy) as I have always noticed you had a lot of potential for encouraging new editors. I forgot to adjust my mentor settings to state I would be unavailable for longer hence the questions.

Question
[edit]How are you, mate? I was wondering if you want to review Hunter Schafer, it's at FA. HSLover/DWF (talk) 17:20, 25 September 2025 (UTC)
- I’m not sure how i missed this… unfortunately i’m pretty tied up in other commitments (see coeliac disease, epilepsy, major depressive disorder) which are time consuming and my time for Wikipedia has decreased. As much as i would have loved to help i’ve been staying in the shadows for now.
- Happy to see you back and I hope you’re doing well. IntentionallyDense (Contribs) 07:49, 4 October 2025 (UTC)
- I'm doing well. It's fine- hope you make these articles great quality and maybe FAs. HSLover/DWF (talk) 07:57, 4 October 2025 (UTC)

Question from SerialDesignationF (03:53, 1 October 2025)
[edit]How do I make a page? --SerialDesignationF (talk) 03:53, 1 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hey @SerialDesignationF, I noticed IntentionallyDense seems to be taking a wikibreak right now. Instead, I'll answer your question. You'll want to read Help:Your first article, which links around halfway down to the article creation wizard. IAWW (talk) 21:48, 2 October 2025 (UTC)

Old noms data
[edit]Hi @IntentionallyDense, how did you get the data for the old noms amount and the unreviewed old noms amount for the Jan backlog drive? I can't find those numbers on the pages linked. IAWW (talk) 12:59, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) See the number of noms in "old noms" larger than the number of days here- subtract those which have "discusss review" instead of start review on them to get unreviewed noms- I did something more complex, but this way is more easy. Also, it gets updated at 1 UTC instead of midnight - so you have to keep it offset by one- I actually counted on the GA noms page, but that's more complex, so you can just write on the page that the update is offset by an hour. HSLover/DWF (talk) 21:08, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks so much I went ahead and did that. @Fade258 courtesy ping. IAWW (talk) 21:41, 2 October 2025 (UTC)
Darkmode and your signature
[edit]Your signature is completely unreadable in darkmode. Could you please modify it to work in both modes, by specifying a background color when specifying a font color ? Or by choosing colors that work in both modes ? —TheDJ (talk • contribs) 10:34, 4 October 2025 (UTC)
