Hi Mellk. The IP editor wrote vile antisemitic things on Talk:The Holocaust and you think they should allowed another chance to do that (User talk:2600:1700:B480:1820:7957:90BB:DBC2:281F)? Robby.is.on (talk) 16:54, 24 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I meant to express my bafflement at the fact that you posted to the user's Talk page a templated message which is used to give editors a final warning. WP:ANV requires the IP to continue after a level four warning. What am I missing here? Thanks for the explanation. I see IPs post racist comments or engage in egregious trolling all the time. If they make more than one edit, then it may be possible to report them to AIV. WP:GAIV says: the user must show a strong likelihood of making further disruptive edits despite warnings and being informed of the blocking policy. Always give a final warning, and report only if the vandal has vandalized at least once after that.

ANI is for more complex cases. The same page says: AIV deals mainly with obviously malicious edits that require no discussion; complex cases should usually be referred to other boards. In this case, this is obvious Holocaust denial trolling. Since they were editing as an IP, they can easily continue trolling under a different IP address and they cannot be reported as vandalism-only accounts.
