Countries designated as    "developing" or    "least developed" (full list) are considered. Articles from "least developed" areas are given a multiplier. Classification is primarily based on IMF and UN lists, with some exceptions.

The 2025 DCWC has ended. This will be reopened at the start of next year's contest!

A more extensive list can be found at Eligible reviews.

The Developing Countries WikiContest is a competition with a focus towards developing countries, played and won by skill of editing. The purpose of this contest is to encourage content creation and improvement in an area often underlooked by editors.

The 2025 contest ran from 1 July 2025 until 30 September 2025. This year's competition has ended, but look out for next year!

If you're looking for articles to work on or have ideas, see the suggested articles and eligible reviews pages. If you're in need of a review, list it at the review requests sidebar.

For the full rules clarifying what points can be awarded for, see the scoring page. However, the spirit of the rules is more important than the letter, and the coordinators reserve the right to deny points to anyone gaming the system, as well as to remove persistently problematic users from the contest. If you believe another contestant is deliberately abusing WikiContest processes, please contact one of the coordinators: Arconning (talk · contribs · email), sawyer777 (talk · contribs · email), and TechnoSquirrel69 (talk · contribs · email).
