Gloria Pazmino is a correspondent for CNN based in New York. Expanding from her role as a correspondent for CNN Newsource and CNNâs more than 1,000 affiliate partners, she has contributed to the networkâs reporting on New York City Mayor Eric Adams, the special election in New Yorkâs 3rdcongressional district, the historic election of Governor Kathy Hochul, the deadly bridge collapse in Baltimore and the historic arraignment of former President Donald Trump in Manhattan.
Pazmino has covered immigration across the Northeast region with a focus in New York City and the Adamsâ administration response to migrant arrivals. She was also on the ground at the U.S. southern border during the expiration of Title 42.
Pazmino has reported from multiple natural disasters, including hurricane Ian in Florida and she was one of the first reporters on the ground in Lahaina following the deadly 2023 Hawaii wildfires. She and her crew were among the first national media to broadcast live following the fires.
Before joining CNN, Pazmino extensively covered politics in New York for Spectrum News NY1 and POLITICO. She provided daily coverage of Mayor Adamsâ campaign and his new term in office, the administration of former Mayor Bill de Blasio, the resignation of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the election of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. While at NY1, She covered politics, criminal justice reform, and the push to close Rikers Island, detailing detaineesâ lack of access to medical care.
Pazmino earned her bachelorâs degree in journalism from St. Johnâs University. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
Born in Colombia, she moved to Queens as a child, and has been a proud New Yorker ever since.
