Virginia Moseley serves as CNNâs executive editor, the news organizationâs first role of its kind, overseeing international and domestic news operations across platforms.
Under her leadership, Moseley has established CNN as an award-winning global news organization. Moseley was previously executive vice president of editorial for CNNâs U.S. operation, driving all breaking news coverage and domestic newsgathering for CNNâs domestic bureaus including Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Miami and Washington, D.C. In addition, she was responsible for managing coverage plans for reporting teams including White House, Congress, Justice Department, Defense, and National Security.
Before joining CNN, Moseley was Good Morning Americaâs senior Washington producer overseeing all Washington reporting and interviews for ABC Newsâ flagship morning show. During her 18 years at ABC, Moseley also served as its senior political editor during the 2006 and 2008 campaigns and spent eight years with This Week first as senior producer and later as executive producer.
Before ABC News, Moseley spent 10 years at CBS Newsâ political unit as an off-air reporter on Capitol Hill, as an embed in the 1992 campaign, and as Washington Producer for CBS Evening News.
Moseley earned her Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University.
