Notability and biographies
[edit]I know some people are gonna point out notability and NOTGENEAOLOGY with some of the biographies I am writing.
I am totally aware of these policies the reason I have all these biographies is because every single one of these individuals are important to the historical narrative.
For example, Draft:Michel Cadotte, Jr was involved in the war of 1812 and numerous historians written about his involvement in the war. They also talk about how he was an interpreter. He was also apparently involved in a land ownership controversy.(This controversy apparently lasted for decades.) And he married a chief’s daughter.
So by all measurements he is notable.
This is the same case with the Hatfields.
Both families I am writing about have alot of notable members.
I don’t think there are any notable members who past the 1940s. So I am gonna stop once I reach that point.
Basically the reason why I have so many biographies is because this is one of those unique cases where the entire family is notable.
The issue is that information for many of these individuals is hard to create biographies for. There is numerous reasons for this. CycoMa2 (talk) 00:05, 4 July 2025 (UTC)
- I know alot of y’all are most interested in other topics I write about.
- Don’t worry I haven’t abandoned biology, religion, or mythology topics. I am just busy with writing about history. History is just a topic I have always wanted to write more about. CycoMa2 (talk) 00:24, 4 July 2025 (UTC)

Draft:Ownership of Sault Ste. Marie controversy
[edit]I decided to make a new draft:Draft:Ownership of Sault Ste. Marie controversy
The reason I decided to make this draft is because many sources have touched upon this and they have also said that this was an issue even in the early 20th century.
Also my biography on Jean Baptiste Cadot is getting too long.
I haven’t looked too much into this issue because right now I am more interested in writing biographies. This so called controversy is probably not very relevant in the 21st century, laws back then were completely different than they are today. Right now I haven’t seen any sources talk about any living descendants of Jean Baptiste Cadot carrying about this matter.
My grandfather was a registered tribal member and he serviced im the United States armed forces and my dad identifies as Native American and served in the United States armed forces.
Both my dad and grandpa appeared to have been aware of Cadottes for a long time and both of them appeared to believed they were descendants of the Cadottes. Both men appeared to not care about the issue.
But then again my relationship with both men is challenging.
But I am making this article because it was clearly an issue that was for a long time. CycoMa2 (talk) 19:55, 7 July 2025 (UTC)
Your submission at Articles for creation: Ephraim Hatfield (July 8)
[edit]
- If you would like to continue working on the submission, go to Draft:Ephraim Hatfield and click on the "Edit" tab at the top of the window.

@Astra Travasso Here is the thing, these aren't just passing mentions.
- The book written by Altina L. Waller has like 10 around pages worth of information on him. I just haven't added all the information on him in that book yet because I ran out of time when I was in the library.
- Also side note, this biography is similar to the one of Johnny Appleseed and Daniel Boone.
- Ephraim was a real people, but there is a lot tall tales and folklore about the guy. That is why I put in the newspapers in.
- I just haven't stumbled upon any historians talking the historicity of all these events. CycoMa2 (talk) 18:58, 8 July 2025 (UTC)

All I ask is for time
[edit]I know a lot of y’all are scrolling through my contributions and I have seen many of the suggestions from y’all.
All I ask from y'all is to give me time. There is tons of evidence that most and possibly all of the my current drafts are notable topics. CycoMa2 (talk) 17:20, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
- I have a long history where I managed to prove numerous topics as notable. Just look at the following articles I written:
- Original Character
- RainFurrest
- Devil's Icebox (cave)
- Edge of Hell (Kansas City)
- I do believe there is a good chance that 2 of my drafts are gonna have to be deleted due to lack of evidence of notability. CycoMa2 (talk) 17:31, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
William Gillis
[edit]I saw your missing information tag on the William Gillis (businessman). Could you name this book about the Ozarks? Roast (talk) 04:27, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Guerreroast it’s called The Ozarks in Missouri History: Discoveries in an American Region CycoMa2 (talk) 04:35, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
Submitted Athanasie Cadot
[edit]I decided to just submit the draft for Athanasie Cadot.
It is very obvious this woman is notable enough for Wikipedia standards and there is enough reliable sources on her.
I’ll just work on her more and more over time. CycoMa2 (talk) 09:43, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
My father shown me documents
[edit]My father gets money from the federal government because of his ancestry. That is another reason I felt the need to declare COI.
So yes without a document Michel Cadotte is without a doubt my ancestor. CycoMa2 (talk) 20:28, 16 July 2025 (UTC)
- I just inform you all this because this goes above and beyond bragging about cool relatives.
- People actually get benefits from this stuff. CycoMa2 (talk) 20:38, 16 July 2025 (UTC)

- @WeirdNAnnoyed What is wrong with the other sources?
- Brenda Child has been referenced by Minnesota Historical Society
- just look at this.
- Tobola is at the University of Wisconsin. Just look.
- DuLong was used as a citation by Silberberg. CycoMa2 (talk) 12:04, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- I bring up Child because she talks about this figure quite a bit. DuLong doesn’t say too much on her though. CycoMa2 (talk) 13:58, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- Brenda Child has been referenced in the following Wikipedia articles:
- Ojibwe
- Gender roles among the Indigenous peoples of North America
- Netnokwa
- American Indian boarding schools CycoMa2 (talk) 17:23, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- John P DuLong was referenced in Europäische Stammtafeln CycoMa2 (talk) 17:20, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- O'Meara was used as a source in the following Wikipedia articles:
- James Aldridge
- Battle of Jumonville Glen
- Battle of Fort Necessity
- Fort Granville
- Battle of Fort Ligonier CycoMa2 (talk) 18:42, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hi. It looks like a nonissue now because it seems the article has been moved out of draftspace. But to answer your question, the DuLong references do not appear to be peer reviewed or published by a recognized publishing house, which was my concern. Child may well be a RS but I don't have access to the book so I can't verify it covers Cadot in any depth. Same with Silbernagel (not Silberberg, sorry, I was multitasking). But this was a borderline case and I think you did a pretty good job finding information on this obscure but possibly quite important person. If there had been accessible online versions of Child and Silbernagel that could demonstrate significant coverage (not passing mentions) then I would have approved. Your article is much, MUCH better than most drafts I reject at AfC. WeirdNAnnoyed (talk) 22:53, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- @WeirdNAnnoyed to be honest the only reason I submitted it through AFC was because this historical figure was my ancestor.
- Let’s just said my dad told when I was a little kid I had Native American blood. I believed him at first but doubted it when I entered my preteens.
- It is complicated but let’s just say I am pretty white passing, this wasn’t properly explained to me, and other reasons I shouldn’t talk about.
- I only recently found out it was 100% true when my dad shown me his Indian money and it had Cadotte on it. I felt like my dad receiving benefits because of his ancestry justified the reason why I declared COI.
- That is why I submitted through AFC. But many other contributors told me there was no need to declare it.
- But I am just declaring it just to be safe. CycoMa2 (talk) 15:35, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
- I bring up Child because she talks about this figure quite a bit. DuLong doesn’t say too much on her though. CycoMa2 (talk) 13:58, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
Appreciation and a request
[edit]Hey there! You've been popping up in my watchlist tagging articles for referencing issues. Thank you for doing that work!
One request, though -- could you please try to consistently use edit summaries? It helps some of the rest of us know which edits do and don't need our attention. An edit with no summary is an almost automatic "ugh, I have to check whether this is vandalism", even when it turns out to be a good edit.
Thanks! -- Avocado (talk) 01:39, 27 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Avocado sorry for the late reply.
- Sorry for not using my edit summaries back there. CycoMa2 (talk) 13:11, 27 July 2025 (UTC)
- It's all good! I'm sure you'll use them more in the future. Keep up the good work! -- Avocado (talk) 19:43, 27 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Avocado okay the truth is I am really tired. Like beyond tired.
- I have been working on writing numerous articles all by myself. Like I literally drove across the United States just to get sources. The room I am in right now has like 100 books from like 3 different libraries. CycoMa2 (talk) 04:58, 28 July 2025 (UTC)

AfC decline
[edit]Please do not remove AfC declines like here and here, they are meant to stay on the draft. The draft can, and should, be resubmitted without removing them. Thank you. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 08:16, 6 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four the only reason I submitted through AFC is because they of my potential COI. I can move it to main whenever I want. CycoMa2 (talk) 05:18, 7 August 2025 (UTC)
- I don't believe I've stated otherwise, but do note that if you move the article directly to main then another editor may move it back to draftspace, aka WP:DRAFTIFY. This is allowed by point one of WP:DRAFTREASON which states such moves are acceptable if
"The article was created by an editor who appears to have a conflict of interest, but it did not go through the Articles for Creation (AfC) process"
. You are a COI editor, and are expected to utilize the AfC process for subjects which you have a conflict with as stated at WP:COIEDIT. In the meantime please do not remove any more AfC declines. - Also, are you in any way being compensated for your editing on Wikipedia as described at WP:PAID? Thank you. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 05:57, 7 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four
- I am not paid for editing.
- Basically my mother told me she is related to the people involved in this feud. CycoMa2 (talk) 06:01, 7 August 2025 (UTC)
- I thought something seemed familiar, I remember reading your disclosure at COIN. It's a pretty tenuous COI in my opinion, but either way declines really should stay on drafts just like the comments that accompany them say. What brought me to the draft in the first place was that removing the decline tripped the "Unusual action at AfC" edit filter [1]. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 06:18, 7 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four to be honest I know it’s an unusual COI.
- There are many reasons I felt like I had too:
- The first reason is because JD Vance claims that a certain person in this event is a distant cousin of his.
- I literally read through Vance’s memoir and he said that Draft:Jim Vance (1832) was a relative of his. No seriously he literally claims he is a relative to Jim Vance in his book Hillbilly Elegy.
- I haven’t looked too deep into these claims but from what I have seen it appears there is some controversy in regards to his alleged background.
- The second reason is because let’s just say members of both families involved in that feud done controversial things. When I say they done a lot of controversial things I mean a lot.
- From what I have researched so far the families involved in the feud descended from men who fought against and pushed Native Americans out of their homes.
- It’s bad enough that most of them were confederates, committed murders, and some slept with their cousins. lol. CycoMa2 (talk) 21:05, 7 August 2025 (UTC)
