Jones made his second straight start of the preseason with Jalen Suggs (knee) on the shelf. Suggs is iffy for Opening Night at this point, but Jones isn't a lock to start if Suggs is unavailable -- Anthony Black made a strong impression off the bench Friday with 12 points and five assists in 21 minutes.

Black may be the third-string point guard on paper when everybody is healthy, but if Friday was any indication, he's going to push for more minutes.

Wagner put up eight points (2-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds, two assists, two steals and two turnovers in 20 minutes of Friday's 128-98 preseason win over the 76ers.
Wagner was rested during Orlando's preseason opener against the Heat on Oct. 4, as he was coming off a busy summer with his stint at EuroBasket. Health will be a big key for Wagner this season after he was limited to 60 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. His three-point shot was an emphasis over the offseason, as he's shot below 30 percent in two straight campaigns.

Banchero finished with 13 points (4-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one block across 24 minutes during Friday's 128-98 preseason win over the 76ers.
Banchero had a rough shooting night, making 25 percent of his shots from the field. However, he was one of only five players on his squad to score in double digits, following the lead of Wendell Carter, who dropped a game-high 20 points in the 30-point blowout.

Suggs went through a non-contact workout Wednesday, but that doesn't indicate he's taken a significant step forward in his recovery from the left knee surgery he had in March. The Magic are hopeful that the 2021 first-rounder will be ready to roll for Opening Night, though his status very much remains up in the air. It's possible Suggs won't see any preseason action this fall, and Tyus Jones would likely fill the void at point guard if Suggs can't go for the start of the regular season.

Davis will try to earn a roster spot throughout the preseason. The undrafted rookie had a successful four-year career at Florida Atlantic University before transferring to Arkansas for his final year of eligibility. For Arkansas, Davis posted averages of 12.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.4 steals in 31.6 minutes per contest across 34 appearances.

Carter contributed 10 points (4-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds and two blocks across 13 minutes in Saturday's 126-118 preseason win over the Heat.
Carter was one of six Magic players to score double-digit points and one of three to record multiple blocks. The 26-year-old center is coming off a down season in which his usage rate dropped to a career-low 16.1 percent, and that trend may continue with Desmond Bane now in the mix. Carter averaged 9.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists across 25.9 minutes per game in a career-high 68 regular-season appearances (51 starts) in the 2024-25 campaign.

Bane made the most of his limited playing time Saturday and finished tied with Alex Morales for most dimes on the team. Bane spent the first five seasons of his NBA career with the Grizzlies but will don a Magic jersey for the 2025-26 campaign after being traded my Memphis to Orlando in mid-June.
