Suns' Mark Williams: Targeting Opening Night
Williams (undisclosed) is expected not to play in China or the rest of the preseason, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
The team is targeting the regular-season opener on Oct. 22 against the Kings to make his debut. Williams is on an intentional plan to gear up for the opener.

Suns' Jalen Green: Aiming to return for Opening Night
The Suns are targeting Opening Night for Green's (hamstring) return to the lineup, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
It doesn't sound like Green will be able to see any preseason action this fall, though he appears to be on track to return from a low-grade hamstring strain for the Oct. 22 regular-season opener against the Kings. If the star guard is unable to be ready for the start of the season, Grayson Allen would likely step into a more pronounced role.

Suns' Dillon Brooks: Full stat line in exhibition win
Brooks logged 18 points (7-18 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound, three assists, two steals and one block in 27 minutes during Friday's preseason win over Brooklyn.
It wasn't the most efficient shooting display, but Brooks filled the box score while working to shake off any potential offseason rust. The veteran swingman is set to be Phoenix's starting power forward in 2025-26, but his fantasy appeal will likely remain limited by his lack of contributions across the board. Brooks averaged 14.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.5 three-pointers per game for Houston during the regular season last year.

Suns' Collin Gillespie: Near double-double off bench
Gillespie had 11 points (3-6 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds and two assists in 15 minutes during Friday's preseason win over the Nets.
Gillespie flirted with a double-double off the bench as he tries to nail down a reserve role for the Suns this fall. Jared Butler is tentatively penciled in as the top backup point guard behind Jalen Green (hamstring), though the door is open for Gillespie as well as Jordan Goodwin to seize that spot during training camp.

Suns' Jordan Goodwin: Excels off bench in preseason win
Goodwin posted 19 points (5-10 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 6-9 FT), seven rebounds and two steals in 18 minutes during Friday's preseason win over the Nets.
Goodwin provided a spark off the bench Friday, making a case for more playing time in the process. That said, Goodwin still has Jared Butler and Collin Gillespie to leapfrog on Phoenix's depth chart at point guard if he wants to play meaningful minutes to open the new year.

Suns' Oso Ighodaro: Game-high three blocks Friday
Ighodaro (hand) notched 12 points (5-7 FG, 2-4 FT), three rebounds, one assist, one steal and three blocks in 22 minutes during Friday's preseason win over the Nets.
Ighodaro was spotted with a wrap on his hand early in Friday's matchup, per Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic, but that didn't stop him from delivering a strong two-way performance. The issue figures to be of minimal concern, but it's something to monitor ahead of Sunday's rematch with Brooklyn. With Mark Williams (undisclosed) sidelined, Ighodaro continues to start at center during the preseason.

Suns' Koby Brea: Sits out Friday
Brea (thumb) didn't play in Friday's preseason win over the Nets.
It was reported earlier in the week that Brea was expected to make his preseason debut this weekend, so it looks like the Suns have an eye toward Sunday's meeting with Brooklyn for the rookie second-rounder. Brea is recovering from a thumb sprain, and he could find it difficult to crack Phoenix's Opening Night rotation due to the lack of exhibition reps.

Suns' Mark Williams: Misses Friday's game
Williams (undisclosed) did not play in Friday's preseason game against the Nets, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
Along with Jalen Green (hamstring), Williams watched this game in street clothes. The Suns are treading lightly with Williams, given his injury history, and he's now missed both preseason games so far. With how cautious the team is being, this could certainly be viewed as a red flag for fantasy purposes. Williams' next chance to play comes Sunday in a rematch against the Nets.

Suns' Jalen Green: Doesn't suit up Friday
Green (hamstring) did not suit up for Friday's preseason game against the Nets, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
Green was in street clothes for this contest, marking his second straight absence. He's reportedly closing in on a return, with his next chance to play coming Sunday in a rematch versus the Nets.

Suns' Koby Brea: Closing in on preseason debut
Brea (thumb) is expected to make his preseason debut this weekend, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
Brea's first appearance could come as early as Friday's preseason game against the Nets in China, although the Suns may opt to hold him out until Sunday's meeting with Brooklyn. With Grayson Allen and Royce O'Neale healthy, Brea could have a hard time cracking the Opening Night rotation.

Suns' Jalen Green: Nearing return to lineup
Green (hamstring) is close to returning to action, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports Monday.
The Suns held Green out of Friday's preseason opener against the Lakers, but the star guard appears to be on the verge of returning from a low-grade hamstring strain. He can tentatively be considered probable for Friday's exhibition game against the Nets in China. Green's likely return should push Grayson Allen back to a reserve role.

Suns' Oso Ighodaro: Grabs nine boards in preseason win
Ighodaro logged five points (2-4 FG, 1-6 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and one steal over 26 minutes in Friday's 103-81 preseason win over the Lakers.
Ighodaro led both teams in rebounding Friday, though he wasn't able to convert on his free-throw opportunities. The 2024 second-rounder saw an uptick in playing time towards the tail end of his rookie season. He averaged 6.6 points on 64.6 percent shooting, 5.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 0.8 blocks over 25.6 minutes per game over the final 17 games (four starts) of the 2024-25 campaign. Ighodaro could see meaningful minutes as the first big man off the bench for the upcoming season.

Suns' Jared Butler: Logs 12 points off bench
Butler registered 12 points (5-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block over 16 minutes during Friday's 103-81 exhibition win over the Lakers.
Butler made his Suns debut in Friday's exhibition contest and ended up leading the bench in scoring. The 2021 second-rounder inked a one-year deal with Phoenix in July after Philadelphia opted to decline his team option at the start of free agency. Butler appeared in 60 regular-season games between the 76ers (28) and Wizards (32) during the 2024-25 campaign and averaged 9.0 points, 3.7 assists and 1.8 rebounds over 17.4 minutes per game while connecting on 35.5 percent of his three-point attempts. He's competing for a backcourt rotational role behind starters Devin Booker and Jalen Green (hamstring) for the upcoming season.

Suns' Grayson Allen: Knocks down three triples vs. LAL
Allen logged 13 points (5-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt), two assists, two rebounds, one steal and one block over 22 minutes during Friday's 103-81 preseason win over the Lakers.
Allen joined Dillon Brooks and Royce O'Neale as the three Phoenix players to knock down three triples during Friday's exhibition contest. Allen got the starting nod in Friday's contest, but he's expected to serve in a bench role assuming Jalen Green (hamstring) is cleared to play at the start of the regular season. Allen is coming off a 2024-25 campaign in which he played 24.1 minutes per game, which was his lowest since the 2019-20 season (18.9) as a member of the Grizzlies.

Suns' Nick Richards: Logs 12 minutes in preseason debut
Richards finished with nine points (4-7 FG, 1-3 FT), three boards, one assist, one steal and two turnovers across 19 minutes during Friday's 103-81 win over the Lakers.
Richards served as Oso Ighodaro's backup in Phoenix's preseason opener, but it'll be tough for him to find meaningful minutes when Mark Williams (rest) is active. He's not a guy we'd recommend drafting in most settings.

Suns' Devin Booker: Nets 24 points with seven dimes
Booker (calf) recorded 24 points (8-19 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 6-8 FT), seven assists, two rebounds, one block and just one turnover across 25 minutes in Friday's 103-81 preseason win over the Lakers.
Booker was very aggressive on offense, and he did a nice job of finding his teammates for open looks when the Lakers brought pressure. His calf didn't seem to bother him at all, and he'll now have a whole week to rest up ahead of Phoenix's next preseason game in China.

Suns' Devin Booker: Will play Friday
Booker (calf) is good to go for Friday's preseason matchup with the Lakers, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
Booker will likely be eased back into things with a minimal workload Friday evening, which should translate to more burn for guys like Jared Butler and Collin Gillespie. The fact that Booker is suiting up for a meaningless preseason game suggests that the calf issue he's dealing with is quite minor.
... See More ... See Less -
Suns' Devin Booker: Expected to suit up Friday
Booker is expected to play in Friday's preseason opener against the Lakers, Mark Medina of TheSportingTribune.com reports.
Booker isn't dealing with an injury, but the Suns are keeping an eye on his workload ahead of the regular season. If the superstar guard is limited in any capacity Friday, Jared Butler and Collin Gillespie would have a clearer pathway to playing time in the Phoenix backcourt.
... See More ... See Less -
Suns' Jalen Green: Managing low-grade hamstring strain
Green (hamstring) is out for Friday's preseason opener against the Lakers, Kellan Olson of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Green is nursing a low-grade hamstring strain, and head coach Jordan Ott said the focus is to have the star guard ready for Opening Night. That said, it's possible Green won't see much preseason action this fall. In his absence, Grayson Allen and Ryan Dunn will be candidates for an amplified role.
